Our parish of Prestwich: St Hilda is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO).

Our Diocese of Manchester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO.

If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO Shirley Diver Tel: 07922 330069 or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor Abbey Clephane-Wilson Tel: 0161 828 1451.

If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.

Below are links to the St Hilda policies adopted by the PCC at their meeting 4 April and accepted at the APCM in April 2022 and reaffirmed.  Mrs Shirley Diver was confirmed as the Parish Safeguarding Officer in July 2023.  Contact Shirley on 07922 330069
